About the founder

With nearly 20 years of experience, Deborah started her career in the US to assist Belgium in the realization of the purposes and principles of the United Nations before continuing her career in the private sector. Her deep passion for Compliance and Risk Management exponentially grew through her multiple experiences within PwC Belgium, Carrefour group, Ikea Group, ING, Lloyd’s Insurance and more recently law firms, and financial institutions such as Degroof Petercam.
She then decided to create Compliance Lab to use her expertise acquired via her several experiences in all aspects of Corporate Governance, Non-Financial Risk Management and Compliance to assist companies and entities in their Governance, Compliance and Risk Management framework. As part of this expertise, she specialized in identifying weaknesses / areas of improvement, defining and adapting processes, reviewing and drafting Compliance and Risk Management documentation such as policies, procedures and guidelines (related for example to integrity, code of conduct / ethics, conflict of interests, governance, inducement, market abuse and insider dealing, anti-corruption, anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing, operational risk, controls and incident/breach reporting and management, fit & proper, data protection / GDPR, remuneration, due diligence, complaints handling, business continuity and recovery, etc.).
She always takes into consideration the unique specificities of each organization to have a customized approach.
